Taiwan Railway's Taroko Express Train No. 229 derailed inside the Qing Shui Tunnel yesterday due to a rockfall caused by a landslide. The company reported that the derailed train was successfully rerailed and removed by 8 a.m. this morning. They are now working on restoring the track and signal equipment, aiming to fully reopen the line by noon today. The incident resulted in injuries to the driver and 8 passengers, with a total of 9 individuals receiving medical treatment. All passengers have been safely transported to their destinations. Repair efforts are ongoing in the affected area with single-track operations in place while repairs are carried out.
