Taiwan Railway managed to pull out 2-9 carriages of the Taroko Express train which derailed between Chongde and Heping on the westbound line at the Cingshuei Tunnel's K51 section. The train was stuck after hitting falling rocks, resulting in injuries to the driver and 8 passengers. The railway aims to fully restore the line by noon today. Passengers had to evacuate through muddy terrain, but all reached safety. The incident did not involve rainfall-induced debris flow, and repair efforts are ongoing.
