Taiwan Railway Train No. 229 Driver Suffers Broken Bones and Surgery! First 'Emergency Response' Revealed at the Scene of the Accident

On the afternoon of June 21st, the Taiwan Railway Train No. 229 derailed, resulting in the driver surnamed Chen suffering a fracture. He was taken to a local hospital, underwent surgery, and has since been transferred to a general ward. Premier Su Tseng-chang visited the hospital to show his concern. The Taiwan Railway Enterprise Union stated that Chen started driving trains in 2018 without any violations. Amidst the accident, Chen saw obstacles and promptly applied emergency brakes to hold his position.
