Taiwan Railway Industry Union Chairman Wang Jie urges for legal holidays to be innocent, as the court rules in favor of the union's appeal. 336 Taiwan Railway employees were disciplined for participating in a 'Lawful Leave' movement on national holidays 7 years ago. After being rejected by the labor department, they sought judicial relief. The Taipei High Administrative Court ruled in favor of the union, stating that paid holidays are a worker's right according to international agreements, and employers must not violate this right. The court emphasized that 336 employees had no obligation to work during the Lunar New Year, and the railway company's practices were deemed unlawful.
