In July 3, 2024, Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) held its first company-wide recruitments, planning to hire 936 people but only recruited 756 individuals. With an average monthly salary of NT $49,388, TRA's wages fall far behind Taiwan High Speed Rail's average of NT $89,917, prompting legislators to urge for better treatment for TRA employees. Legislators pointed out that TRA's inadequate salary and benefits, lack of professional certifications, and outdated wage structure make it difficult to attract new talent, leading to challenges in recruitment and retaining staff.
