A new dispute over priority seats arose on a Taiwan Railways train heading towards Banqiao on July 1, 2024, when a woman allegedly did not offer her seat to an elderly man. A man who claimed to be a retired member of the special forces could not tolerate this and repeatedly scolded the woman, even going as far as saying 'If I were a man, I would hit you.' The entire incident was captured on video by the woman. Although the police did not receive any reports afterwards, they encourage the public to immediately notify station staff or railway police if faced with disputes like this.
