Taiwan Railways Responds to Employee Complaints about Trial Implementation of Four-wheel Three-shift System

Reported 8 months ago

Taiwan Railways recently implemented a trial of a four-wheel three-shift system, with the Audit Department requiring railway workers to include travel expenses in their income declarations, potentially reducing overtime pay and sparking discontent among employees. The Railway Enterprise Union expressed concerns and emphasized the necessity for negotiating any changes to working hours, ensuring consensus is reached. The Railway company responded by stating they consider legal regulations, overall employee salaries, health, and work-life balance when making adjustments. The company clarified that no immediate implementation of the four-wheel three-shift system at ticket windows is required, and they are working on correcting income declarations related to travel expenses for employees as instructed by the Audit Department.
