Taiwan Railways is set to undergo significant schedule adjustments starting from June 26, affecting a total of 436 trains across the network. The highlight of this change is the introduction of westbound direct trains, allowing passengers to travel from Taipei to Kaohsiung in as fast as 3 hours and 38 minutes, with the Taipei-Taichung route shortened to less than 1 hour and 50 minutes. Additionally, 45 new EMU3000-type Taroko Express trains will start operating, greatly enhancing capacity. The schedule changes aim to enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of the westbound Taroko Express trains with improved travel times, increased train capacity, and adjusted train compositions on certain routes to cater to peak hour demands.
