The IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook for 2024 was released by IMD on June 17th, with Taiwan ranking 8th out of 67 evaluated countries, a decrease of two spots from last year's ranking. Taiwan excelled in categories such as 'Enterprise Efficiency,' 'Government Efficiency,' and 'Infrastructure' ranking 6th, 8th, and 10th globally, while its 'Economic Performance' dropped to 26th due to weak demand caused by global high inflation and interest rates in 2023. Despite this, Taiwan ranked among the top in various indicators, showcasing its entrepreneurial spirit and strengths in technology research and development.
