According to Taiwan Television News on June 7, 2024, Taiwan's declining birth rate has worsened, with the number of newborns in May, despite being the Year of the Dragon, only reaching 11,168, the highest so far this year. However, this is still 5% lower than the same period last year. The total population in Taiwan has decreased for five consecutive years, now standing at 23,413,608. This trend reflects the serious issue of an aging population and declining birth rates in Taiwan.
