According to a weekly magazine report, Taiwan's representative in the U.S., Yu Da-chuan, is suspected of extravagantly spending public funds to purchase luxury items, including a 4-million NTD luxury car and 2 million NTD on furniture and household items. There are also allegations of using the Vice President Xiao Mei-chin's name to purchase high-end items. Yu Da-chuan's wife and children are accused of irregularly using public resources and mistreating colleagues. Taiwan's Premier Su Tseng-chang emphasized the need for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to investigate these claims, promising to hold accountable if found true, to maintain high ethical standards among government officials.
