Taiwan is gradually entering an aging society, with a growing concern for long-term care issues. According to the latest household income and expenditure survey by the Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics, there are over 2.24 million elderly households led by individuals aged 65 and above, out of which 1.14 million elderly individuals are facing financial difficulties with an annual income of around 351,000. This highlights the issue of elderly poverty in Taiwan, as the country grapples with the challenges of an aging population.
