On June 30th, Taiwan's three major telecom companies shut down their 3G networks, marking the end of 3G services that have been in operation for over 20 years. As of the end of June, Taiwan's 5G user base has officially surpassed 9.06 million, reaching a penetration rate of nearly 39% among the population and over 30% among all mobile users. The closure of 3G networks may pose challenges for users with 53.39 thousand 3G devices. The telecom industry has also witnessed a significant increase in 5G users with Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile, and Far EasTone having a combined market share, establishing a competitive landscape in the market.
