Reported about 1 year ago
Taiwan's blackfin tuna catch has been abundant this year, with 90% of the international quota reached, leading to an early end to the fishing season starting from June 12. The Fisheries Agency announced an emergency cessation of fishing from midnight on June 12 to comply with international regulations and prevent overfishing of global Pacific blackfin tuna resources. Fishing vessels are required to leave the fishing grounds by the stop-fishing date, and any accidental catches should be promptly reported. Failure to comply may result in penalties affecting next year's fishing permits.
