Taiwan's Blue Proposes Amendment to Retrieve Improper Party Assets Worth 16.3 Billion; Legislator Huang Chieh Criticizes as 'Country's Biggest Robbery' and Urges Seizure of Unlawful Party Assets

Reported 8 months ago

Legislator Huang Chieh criticized the blue and white parties for attempting to amend the 'Political Parties and Their Affiliated Organizations' Improperly Obtained Property Handling Act', calling the move by the Nationalist Party as the 'country's biggest robbery'. Huang questioned the intentions behind the proposals and urged for the recovery of improper party assets. This comes as the Nationalist Party pushed for an amendment to retrieve 61 plots of land totaling nearly 20,000 ping and 16.3 billion cash improperly acquired by the Youth Salvation Corps through the Nationalist Party, instead of returning them to the state, contrary to the goal set by the Democratic Progressive Party to return party assets to the public. This move has raised concerns and sparked criticism among legislators and citizens.
