During a speech at the 100th anniversary celebration of the ROC Military Academy, President Tsai Ing-wen criticized the 'end game on first battle' strategy as surrenderist. In response, Defense Minister Yen De-fa emphasized that it's not seeking war but implementing a 'multi-layered deterrence' to gradually weaken the enemy's capabilities and demonstrate Taiwan's resolve. This approach focuses on enhancing self-defense capabilities, resisting the enemy, and developing defense strategies to prevent enemy objectives. Yen dismissed the notion of 'waiting for US forces' and highlighted the importance of asymmetrical warfare in deterrence until the enemy's invasion attempts fail.
