Taiwan's Export Orders of 48.89 Billion US Dollars Exceeded Expectations, Estimated to End 7 Consecutive Quarters of Negative Growth in Q2

Reported 8 months ago

The Ministry of Economic Affairs estimates that Taiwan's export orders in Q2 of this year will show positive growth, ending 7 consecutive quarters of decline, with a year-on-year increase of around 10%. In May, export orders reached 48.89 billion US dollars, a 7% increase compared to the previous year. The strong performance was driven by demand in AI and information communication products, with communication products hitting a record high and electronic products also showing growth. Chemical and rubber products also saw an increase due to inventory restocking and price hikes. The Ministry predicts that June's orders may reach 51 billion US dollars, with expectations of continued growth throughout the year.
