Taiwan's FDA Director Removed, Chen Shih-chung Sends Encouraging Message via Line

Reported 9 months ago

Taiwan's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Director Wu Hsiu-mei will step down after nearly 7 years of service amidst various controversies. It is reported that Chen Shih-chung, the former FDA official, sent an encouraging Line message to Wu upon hearing the news of her departure, acknowledging her significant contributions to society and expressing that she should feel at ease after serving for such a long time. Chen indicated that the position of FDA Director carries many challenges, especially in light of the public's heightened emphasis on drug and food safety, making the role particularly demanding. Chen does not know Wu's successor, pharmacology expert Chuang Sheng-hung, personally, but believes in his capability to handle Taiwan's food and drug safety with dedication.
