With the aging population and declining birth rates in Taiwan, next year's health insurance spending growth rate is projected to be between 3.521% to 5.5%, reaching NT$911.2 billion to NT$928.6 billion. The opposition party proposed amendments to incorporate funding safeguards into the National Health Insurance Act to ensure a specific funding amount per point. The Minister of Health and Welfare assured that with the current safety reserves, there won't be a premium increase next year. Disagreements remain on the best approach, with potential revisions to the fees structure looming. Efforts are being made to come to a consensus and finalize the budget allocations for various medical sectors by September.
