Taiwan's Hottest City Revealed: Over 30 Degrees for More Than Half a Year, Pingtung Not at the Top

Reported about 1 year ago

With ongoing high temperatures in Taiwan, several cities have experienced temperatures exceeding 36 degrees. According to a chart shared by the Facebook page 'Tu Di,' the hottest city in Taiwan is Tainan, with 186 days per year averaging above 30 degrees, ranking first in the country, followed by Kaohsiung. Data from the Central Weather Bureau from 1991 to 2020 shows Tainan leading with 186 days, followed by Kaohsiung with 174 days, and Chiayi at third with 173 days. Pingtung, although believed to be very hot, was not ranked as the hottest city due to the Weather Bureau station in Pingtung not being operational for 30 years to be included in official statistics.
