Taiwan is facing a growing labor shortage issue, with a recent study revealing the top five most in-demand occupations in Taiwan for the next decade. The occupations include commercial and administrative assistant professionals, sales and display workers, mining, construction, manufacturing, and transportation laborers, personal service workers, and production machinery operators. The study also suggests that the demand for these occupations will lead to a shortage of labor if not addressed, urging the government to focus on filling vacancies for low-skilled workers or upgrading industries to reduce dependence on low-skilled labor, especially in the face of increasing demand for information-related occupations in the changing industrial environment.
