Taiwan's largest dental group, the Abc Dental Union, has been exposed for hiring secret doctors to fraudulently claim health insurance fees. Shang Ting, who serves as the chairman of the union, has a wide network in politics and business, including praise from former Health Minister Chen Shih-chung as a potential future Minister of Health. The group's website previously featured photos of Shang Ting with celebrities like Liu Keng-hung, Huang Chih-wei, and the late Hong Kong actor Woo Ma, attracting clients. Shang Ting's connections extend to high-ranking politicians and entertainers, but he faced controversy during the 2018 Kaohsiung mayoral election for meeting with the Kuomintang candidate Han Kuo-yu despite his green political leanings, causing a stir in the media.
