During the review of amendments to the Recall Law by the Interior Committee of Taiwan's Legislative Yuan on July 4th, conflict erupted between Blue and Green party members, with Blue legislators demanding the release of parliamentary staff. People First Party Chairman Ko Wen-je criticized the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for allegedly soft detaining public servants, confiscating discussions, and undermining Taiwan's democracy. Ko raised concerns about the DPP's actions under former premier Lai Ching-te's leadership, accusing them of continuously trampling on democracy.
