Reported about 1 year ago
Lin Wenjie, the Deputy Minister of Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council, responded to reports of Chinese official media journalists participating in the production of Taiwan TV political programs by stating that they are investigating the matter. He emphasized that Taiwan has never managed the statements of Chinese media journalists, with the only condition being that individuals coming from China to Taiwan are not allowed to make harmful statements regarding Taiwan's autonomy. The government has not expelled any Chinese media reporters for exercising press freedom, except for instances like Southeast TV several years ago, which violated visa regulations. Additionally, due to recent threats to personal safety issued by China, Taiwan has raised its travel alert level to 'orange' for mainland, Hong Kong, and Macau. Lin Wenjie highlighted the continued enforcement of regulations for cross-strait journalist exchanges.
