FTNN News, July 1, 2024 - The vice chairman of the Mainland Affairs Council (MAC), Leung Wen-jie, explained that the so-called 'cross-strait' relation is essentially 'two countries', causing dissatisfaction in the office of Ma Ying-jeou. Premier Su Tseng-chang was asked about his opinion and responded firmly that 'the Republic of China (ROC) and the People’s Republic of China (PRC) are mutually non-subordinate.' In response to Ma's dissatisfaction, Su emphasized that the ROC and PRC are indeed mutually non-subordinate. This current status is what the people of the country are striving to maintain, and it is the most helpful for the security and stability of the Indo-Pacific region. Su also suggested that Leung voluntarily resign and recommended President Tsai Ing-wen dissolve the MAC, avoiding wasteful spending of taxpayer money.
