Taiwan's NDC Collaborates with Google and LINE to Combat Scams, Meta to Join Next Week

Reported 8 months ago

In response to the upcoming launch of the 'Anti-Scam Reporting and Inquiry Network' in August, Taiwan's National Development Council (NDC) is partnering with Google and LINE to combat online scams. NDC has invited Meta to discuss anti-scam measures on July 4. The new network will integrate reporting channels from various social platforms to provide the public with real-time access to report suspicious online scam messages. The ultimate goal is to automate this process and enhance efficiency in handling high-risk scam ads. Google and LINE have implemented measures to prevent fraudulent activities on their platforms, with LINE adding warnings for new friend requests and non-Taiwanese communities. NDC aims to boost public awareness and create a safer digital environment through these collaborations.
