The Mainland Affairs Council announced the upgrade of the travel advisory for China, Hong Kong, and Macau to 'Orange,' urging Taiwanese to avoid non-essential travel due to recent tensions and the introduction of China's '22 Anti-Separation Laws' which include severe penalties. The Kuomintang criticized the Democratic Progressive Party for not abiding by the Republic of China Constitution and exacerbating cross-strait tensions, stressing the need for responsible governance to enhance relations and facilitate smooth people-to-people exchanges.
