Taiwan's representative to the US, Yu Da-hsuan, was reported to have spent public funds recklessly by replacing a vehicle for the chief of mission prematurely and allowing his wife to treat diplomats as servants. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that all purchases made by Yu followed government procurement procedures and regulations. President Tsai has instructed the Executive Yuan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to investigate the matter further in accordance with relevant regulations.
