Reported 9 months ago

The first turbine of the Zhongneng Offshore Wind Farm, jointly developed by China Steel and CIP, has started generating power, marking a solid step towards the project's scheduled completion and grid connection this year. Located off the coast of Changhua, the wind farm boasts a 300 MW capacity and is expected to have 31 Vestas V174-9.5MW offshore wind turbines installed. With almost half of the turbines already installed, plans are in place to complete all offshore installation work by the third quarter of this year. This initiative plays a crucial role in Taiwan's energy transition and aims to support the country's international competitiveness and growing electricity demands from industries like AI, servers, semiconductors, and data centers.
