Taiwan Semiconductor and ByteDance Collaborate on Developing AI Chips

According to Reuters, Chinese tech giant ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, is partnering with US chip designer Broadcom to develop an advanced AI processor. The processor will be produced by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) using 5-nanometer process technology. This collaboration is expected to help ByteDance reduce procurement costs and ensure stable supply of high-end chips amid geopolitical tensions between China and the US. Market reports suggest that the AI chip developed by ByteDance and Broadcom will be manufactured by TSMC using 5-nanometer process technology, aiming to enhance the AI computing capabilities of TikTok and other products under ByteDance.
