Taiwan Sets Up 3 Olympic Relay Stations Providing Taiwanese Cuisine and Training Facilities

Reported 8 months ago

On June 18, 2024, at 8:58 am, public television reported that Taiwanese athletes heading to the Paris Olympics will have access to a variety of Taiwanese dishes like beef noodles, salt and pepper chicken, and Taiwanese sausages at the relay stations. Sponsored by a Taiwanese food group specializing in frozen prepared foods, they have customized seasonings to eliminate ingredients like cloves, which are banned in sports. The relay stations will also have chefs from the National Training Center preparing fresh vegetables purchased locally. In addition to dietary support, this initiative includes a sports center and a physical therapy facility, with the sports center being a breakthrough as it was rented for free with the help of the Taipei Representative Office in France. This aims to provide athletes with training facilities for various sports without having to compete for space in the Olympic Village. The move to set up these support points in the city area near the athlete village not only focuses on food but also extends to training and medical support, aiming to provide better logistical assistance than before to help athletes and coaches achieve better results.
