Taiwan's stock market plummeted by over 200 points right after opening on Thursday, reaching as low as 22,765.16 points with a nearly 1% drop. Major tech giants like TSMC and Quanta saw declines, while Hon Hai was the only one with slight gains. Other sectors such as industrial and financial stocks also experienced broad declines. The market began to recover slightly after 9:30, with the index around 22,850 points by 10:00, down approximately 135 points. TSMC's market value reached 24.69 trillion NT Dollars, with other major stocks like MediaTek, Quanta, and Fubon Financial facing modest declines. Overall, the market has been consolidating this week, with foreign investors selling off for the fourth consecutive day, while domestic institutions continue to buy for the third day.
