Taiwan Stock Market Slightly Declines by 8 Points as Foreign Investors Turn Net Sellers of NT$15.9 Billion, Particularly in TSMC

On June 17, 2024, the Taiwanese stock market slightly fell by 8.19 points to 22,496.53 points, with net selling of NT$164.77 billion by major institutional investors after trading. Foreign investors shifted from three consecutive buying days to net selling of NT$159.38 billion, reducing holdings in insurance, shipping, and construction sectors. Notably, TSMC was among the top three stocks sold off. During the day, local proprietary traders and foreign investors sold off significantly. The New Taiwan Dollar closed at NT$32.385 against the US Dollar. The post-trading data showed that foreign investors decreased their holdings in multiple major stocks, including TSMC.
