TSMC officially joined the NT$1,000 club yesterday, with its stock price fluctuating slightly between gains and losses this morning. The Taiwan stock market saw a small increase in early trading today, with the index dropping by 30 points at the lowest and rising over 100 points to 23,628.86 at the highest, while TSMC lingered between NT$1,000 and NT$1,010. With TSMC's stock price above NT$1,000, each movement now affects the index by 37.5 points. Other heavyweight stocks like Foxconn and MediaTek saw slight declines, while stocks like Mitac, Chunghwa Telecom, Fubon Financial, Delta Electronics, Cathay Financial, and Sinopac Financial saw slight increases. Various sectors experienced mixed performances, with industries like cement, plastics, and maritime transport seeing declines, and sectors like food, chemicals, biotechnology, and rubber seeing small gains. Financial stocks slightly rose by 0.23%, while electronic stocks like Optoelectronics and Electronic Components saw increases, with Optoelectronics having the best performance at 1.75%.
