Taiwan's stock market rally has benefitted the finance sector, with Fubon Financial Group announcing a record-high post-tax profit of 16.02 billion NTD in May and a 594.3 billion NTD profit for the first five months of 2024, surpassing its competitors. Cathay Financial Holdings also reported significant growth, with a 78.8 billion NTD profit in May and a 588.1 billion NTD profit for the first five months. Both financial giants are expected to challenge profits exceeding 600 billion NTD in June, largely driven by strong stock market performance and increased profits from subsidiaries like Fubon Life and Cathay Life. Fubon Securities and Cathay Securities also saw profit increases in May, contributing to the overall success of the finance sector in Taiwan.
