Recent high temperatures in Taiwan have not only made the public struggle with sweltering heat but also caused a significant rise in sea temperatures, with the Taiwan Strait reaching 29 to 30 degrees, much higher than usual. This is attributed to an abnormally strong Pacific high-pressure system suppressing tropical systems and typhoon formation. Experts suggest that a noticeable change may only occur in mid-July, indicating a prolonged period of hot weather. The Central Weather Bureau has issued heat advisories for most counties and cities, with temperatures expected to soar above 36 degrees in some regions, urging people to take precautions against the scorching heat and potential heat-related illnesses.
