In an effort to introduce Indian migrant workers to Taiwan, Labor Minister Hsu Pei-shan announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Taiwan and India for labor cooperation. The initial pilot program will involve around 1000 individuals through both direct recruitment and intermediary channels, primarily targeting the manufacturing industry. The specific timeline for the arrival of Indian workers is yet to be determined, with a potential implementation expected in over a year. The MOU agreement allows Taiwan to have decision-making authority on the total and specific number of entrants, aiming to address the workforce needs in the manufacturing sector.
