In response to the 22 measures issued by China to crack down on Taiwan independence, the Taiwan Mainland Affairs Council announced today to raise the travel alert for visiting Mainland China to 'orange,' advising people to avoid non-essential travel. This decision was made due to concerns over the safety of Taiwanese travelers in light of recent security laws passed in Mainland China and Hong Kong. The Council warned against sensitive topics and recommended cautious behavior for those who still need to travel to Mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macau.
