On July 6, 2024, a woman surnamed Chen in Kaohsiung fell off a computer chair at a Carrefour store, claiming it was due to the chair being improperly assembled and later diagnosed with a coccyx fracture. She sought 900,000 in damages from Carrefour, alleging a lack of warning signs at the store. However, the store employees stated that Chen did not show signs of injury at the time and continued shopping afterward. The court ruled in favor of Carrefour, stating Chen failed to prove a direct link between her injuries and the chair, thus dismissing her claim. Chen can appeal the decision.
