The US-Taiwan Business Council's Rupert Hammond-Chambers and the Taiwanese-American Chamber of Commerce's Alan Eusden jointly wrote to the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee and Finance Committee urging the expedited passing of the Avoidance of Dual Taxation Agreement (ADTA). They emphasized the importance of accelerating the agreement to enhance the competitiveness of the US supply chain and improve technological resilience, highlighting the necessity of independent negotiation in light of the stalled progress of the US Congress's American Families and Workers Tax Relief Act. Economic Minister Wang Mei-hua also recently attended the Select USA Investment Summit in the US and advocated for the speedy signing of the ADTA to reduce the cost of cross-border investment and promote Taiwan-US economic connections.
