Taiwanese singer Hsiao and Chord recently revealed on Facebook that they received a letter from 'Beijing Ciguang Yingxi Media Co., Ltd.' offering to introduce them to Chinese jobs with an annual income of tens of million New Taiwan Dollars in exchange for posting content promoting cross-strait relations on Facebook and inviting artists to join the 'Taiwan Harmony Party' for political participation. This revelation has sparked discussions on Chinese Communist Party's cultural united front tactics. The Ministry of the Interior has warned that while people have the right to form a party, they should not accept instructions or funding from foreign forces to avoid becoming a tool for united front work. Violations of the National Security Law may result in a sentence of up to seven years in prison and a fine of up to one hundred million, while breaching the Anti-Infiltration Act may lead to a sentence of up to five years in prison and a fine of up to ten million.
