This event marks the beginning of the annual Taiwan-Japan writer exchanges facilitated by the Taiwan Cultural Center in Japan, aiming to increase Japanese readers' understanding of Taiwanese authors and their works. Wey's 'Private Detective' series has made an impact in Japan, with the first book receiving the 13th Translation Novel Mystery Award in 2021. Wey also shared his writing inspiration and teased the upcoming third installment of the 'Private Detective' series, incorporating his experiences in Japan into the storyline.
