Following the semiconductor giant TSMC to Japan, Taiwanese banks are establishing their presence, with Banking Bureau approving North Fubon Bank to set up a Tokyo branch, making it the sixth Taiwanese bank to do so this year. Other banks that have already established branches in Japan include Chang Hwa Bank, Taishin Bank, Bank of Taiwan, while Cooperative Bank and E.SUN Bank are approved but not yet set up. These expansions are driven by increasing investments by Taiwanese companies in Japan, such as TSMC, leading to a positive outlook for financial services in the region.
