The Mainland Affairs Council disclosed that a Taiwanese businessman surnamed Lou had passed away due to an accident while operating machinery on June 21st. Lou ran a wood art museum in Chengdu, Sichuan, and had expressed his intention to transfer his considerable assets back to Taiwan before his untimely death. Despite suspicions raised by family and friends regarding the swift cremation of the body three days later, the council assured that they are helping the family with the necessary procedures and inheritance issues involving Mainland China.
