Taiwanese Businessman Implicated in Scam of 3.64 Billion Receives Heavier Sentence, Vowing Not to Escape to Australia to Protect Children

Reported 8 months ago

A businessman in Taiwan, Tsai Guo-an, who used photos with political and business elites like former President Xiao Wanchang and Philippine President Duterte to deceive people for money, has been convicted of illegally raising over 3.64 billion since 2015 and sentenced to 14 years in prison with 25.1188 billion seized. Despite the risk of fleeing due to properties in Australia, Tsai insists he has no intention to escape, claiming he has been repaying victims and even had assets auctioned off. The court found Tsai guilty of forging documents and misleading people in investment schemes, with numerous victims losing substantial amounts.
