The Taiwanese Civic Front is mobilizing various civic groups nationwide to return to the legislature to demand ‘civilian resistance against parliamentary abuse and refusal to backpedal on democracy.’ With the executive branch conducting a review and the legislature set to discuss and vote on the review cases, the Civic Front announced their return to the legislature from the 19th to the 21st to continue supervising and defending democracy. Nationalist Party legislator Hsu Yu-chen criticized the Democratic Progressive Party for not facing the new era, accusing them of inciting people to surround the legislature and comparing the president to Puyi, the last Emperor of China. The Civic Front aims to show the Nationalist Party the determination of Taiwanese citizens by re-entering the legislature to continue overseeing and defending democracy.
