According to a report from CTI News on June 26, 2024, the Taiwanese representative in the U.S., Yu Da-kai, faced bullying issues within the office along with controversies surrounding the misuse of public funds. Nationalist Party legislator Hsu Chiao-hsin revealed that a commissioner at the representative office in the U.S. was instructed by a superior to come to work daily, sit at a computer without turning it on all day until the end of work, causing severe mental and physical exhaustion. Hsu criticized the lack of proper management at the representative office during the term of former Foreign Minister Joseph Wu, with these issues only coming to light after the new minister, Lin Chia-lung, took office.
