Taiwanese Company Imports Korean Chili Powder Containing Excessive Pesticides, Over 8600 Kilograms Destroyed

On July 2, 2024, Yuanshin Enterprise imported Korean chili powder was found to contain excessive pesticides, with four batches totaling over 8600 kilograms being returned or destroyed. The Food and Drug Administration announced that among 14 border products found non-compliant, four batches of Korean chili powder were from Yuanshin Enterprise Co., Ltd., with residues of the pesticide 2,4-D exceeding the limit, prompting the return or disposal of 8616 kilograms. The FDA will conduct 100% inspections on the company at the border, ensuring compliance before importation.
