In the North District of Tainan, a couple with hoarding tendencies had collected so much recycle items in their house that it piled up from the 1st floor to the 3rd floor, emitting a foul odor. Unable to exit their home due to the clutter, the couple had to be rescued with a crane. On June 30th, the North District Office mobilized over a hundred volunteers to spend an entire day clearing out 20 tons of trash, requiring 4 rounds of cleaning trucks for disposal. The daughter of the couple, out of filial piety, had not strongly opposed her mother's hoarding habits but was planning to clean the house recently. The district chief urged people to maintain cleanliness at home to prevent similar incidents.
