Taiwanese Curry Company Faces Issues with Pesticide Contamination in Imported Ingredients

Reported 11 months ago

Taiwanese company Taiwan Jiu Shi Food Co., Ltd., which owns the brands Vermont and Java curry, had 1100 kg of curry powder imported from Malaysia rejected due to exceeding pesticide residue limits, while three batches of chili powder from South Korea, totaling 8280 kg, were also found to have excessive pesticide residues and were either returned or destroyed. The Taiwanese Food and Drug Administration has increased monitoring on imported chili powder and spices following previous incidents, with potential suspension of imports from South Korea if issues persist.
